The Amazon rainforest is the largest tropical rainforest in the world, but parts of it have been subjected to large-scale deforestation because of the production of pulp and paper products.

Large numbers of trees are being cut down for pulp production, which not only destroys the ecosystem, but also affects the indigenous communities that live in these areas. According to The Guardian, rainforests in countries such as Brazil and Peru are being severely damaged by pulp production.
